DESCRIPTION:Dom Słów-Izba Drukarstwa (House of Words-Print House) is hosting the 64rd Annual Communications Design and 2018 Typeface Design Exhibitions of Type Directors Club in Lublin\, Poland. The exhibition is having its debut in conjunction with the fourth edition of TypoLub\, a weekend conference and series of workshops that features typographers from Israel and workshops on designing Hebrew letters. \nThe TDC64 exhibition includes over 200 selections of winning work from the TDC’s annual international typeface design competition and communication design competition selected by an international jury of top designers. \nThe exhibition displays typography in a wide range of categories including books\, posters\, corporate branding\, logos\, web graphics\, film and TV titles\, products\, and magazines from many countries including the United States\, France\, Germany\, Japan\, Spain\, the Netherlands\, the United Kingdom\, the People’s Republic of China\, South Korea\, and others. \nThis TDC64 exhibition comes to Lublin from its debuts in Tokyo\, Seoul\, Warsaw\, Antwerp\, Portland\, Barcelona\, and New York. \nThe House of Words is an interdisciplinary institution focusing on art and education\, and a part of the Grodzka Gate – NN Theatre Centre. The mission of the House of Words\, which has operated on this Lublin site since 2008\, is to emphasize the meaning of spoken and printed word in a cultural and social context\, including the importance of “free speech” in the processes of social and political change. Visitors experience the physical presence of the works seen up close\, pick up the books\, and look through the printed magazines — an experience that photos cannot duplicate. \nThe exhibition opened in Tokyo on May 22 and continues through June 22. The co-organizer of this exhibition\, which runs through December\, is Studio Sztuki PJATK (PJATK Art Studio). \nThe TDC63 exhibition includes over 200 selections of winning work from the TDC’s annual international typeface design competition and communication design competition selected by an international jury of top designers. \nThe exhibition displays typography in a wide range of categories including books\, posters\, corporate branding\, logos\, web graphics\, film and TV titles\, products\, and magazines from many countries including the United States\, Germany\, the People’s Republic of China\, Japan\, South Korea\, and others. \nThis TDC63 exhibition comes to Lublin from its July debut in Warsaw at the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technologies (PJAIT). Since April\, this TDC exhibition has been seen in Tokyo\, Seoul\, Nagoya\, Madrid\, Boston\, Osaka\, Bangkok\, Montreal\, Paris\, Hanoi\, and New York. \nThe House of Words is an interdisciplinary institution focusing on art and education\, and a part of the Grodzka Gate – NN Theatre Centre. The mission of the House of Words\, which has operated on this Lublin site since 2008\, is to emphasize the meaning of spoken and printed word in a cultural and social context\, including the importance of “free speech” in the processes of social and political change. DESCRIPTION:The 63rd Annual Type Directors Club typography show will be on view at Museum Huelsmann Kunst + Design in Bielefeld\, Germany from September 8 through October 29. The exhibition features the winners of the annual Communications Design (TDC63) and Type Design (TDC 2017) competition — a collection that Type Directors Club calls “The World’s Best Typography.” \nThe 63rd TDC Show is presented in cooperation with the University of Applied Sciences Bielefeld\, Faculty of Art and Design. \nOn October 6\, TDC Bielefeld hosts a party at the White Villa with live music and lots of type. Admission free for students and faculty. \nOn October 17\, Professor Dirk Fütterer will offer a stimulating tour through the current special exhibition\, explaining the range of font designs\, applications\, and current trends. Everyone is welcomed to attend this public program and reception. Admission for students\, museum staff\, and members is free. DESCRIPTION:Free and open to the public. See the annual design exhibition at Shintaro Akatsu School of Design (SASD) on the University of Bridgeport campus. The show features works by international designers who have been awarded Certificates of Excellence by the juries of TDC 62\, the Type Directors Club international competitions for Communication Design and Type Design. \nDesigners whose works are exhibited in TDC62 work in graphics\, packaging\, environments\, logos\, corporate branding\, magazines\, typefaces\, and more — and all at the top of their game! \nThe jury for the TDC62 Communication Design competition consisted of Daryl Crooks\, Sagi Haviv\, Robbin Schiff\, Jarik van Sluices\, Karen Welman\, Forest Young\, and Julia Seltzer. Abby Goldstein and Karl Heine served as the co-chairs.
