The Type Directors Club travelling show recently opened at the Goethe Institute in Hanoi, Vietnam.

The 56th International Typographic Exhibition featured all of the 242 winning entries including printed matter, packaging, logos, fonts and movie titles. Entries come from 20 countries including, US, England, Germany, Australia, Canada, China, France, India, Japan, South Korea and the Netherlands.

The exhibition was sponsored by Richard Moore Associates in cooperation with FPT Arena and Goethe Institute.

On Sunday there was a discussion on Type Talk in which FPT Arena students we’re invited to create typographic posters on the theme of Shout It Out Loud.

Other activities included a screening of the documentary Helvetica directed by Gary Hustwit and The Art of Herman Zapf produced in 1967 and features Zapf at work at Hallmark Cards in Kansas City, Missouri and in Zapf’s design studio in Dreieichenhain, Germany.
