TDC Education Series: Gourmet Typography Workshop with Ilene Strizver

April 25, 2014 @ 8:30 am - 4:00 pm

Take control of your type instead of letting it control you!

Gourmet Typography Training teaches the typographic skills and aesthetics rarely taught or fully understood by professionals. Learn how to “see” like you’ve never seen before. Whether you are a beginner or seasoned pro, Gourmet Typography Training will sharpen your eye and give you the practical skills that will visibly improve your type. Learn tips for more professional typography, as well as how to get the most out of your software (typographically speaking).

Topics covered include:

  • Think like a type designer (hands-on exercise)
  • What makes a good typeface
  • OpenType explained
  • The seven worst type crimes
  • Fine-tuning your type
  • Alignment, tracking, and word spacing tips and tricks
  • Mastering kerning

Every creative professional regardless of specialty can learn to communicate more effectively with type!
