The TDC will present Dutch typographer, type designer, author, lettering artist, and influential teacher Gerrit Noordzij with its highest honor, the Type Directors Club Medal, during this year’s conference of the Association Typographique Internationale (ATypI) in Amsterdam. An overview of Mr. Noordzij’s work will be presented by his colleague, Peter Verheul. TDC Executive Director Carol Wahler and TDC board member Nick Sherman will be presenting Mr. Noordzij with the TDC Medal. This will be the 26th medal presentation in the 46-year history of this honor.

The TDC Medal is awarded to individuals and institutions who have made major contributions to the field of typography and to expresses collective gratitude to those who by their work and talent have shown the value of a heightened awareness of typography in communication.
