Ascenders 2018 Deadline Extended Until July 9

We have just announced that we are giving designers 35 years and younger two more weeks to enter their portfolios in our Ascenders 2018 competition. The new deadline for entries is Monday, July 9, 2018.
Portfolios should be a single PDF file containing eight to ten examples of type-oriented work, which can include student projects, work that you’ve made on your own, or something you created for a client. Designs should rely on type, be dominated by type, show particular ingenuity in using type, or create type. Other elements, such as photography and illustration, are welcomed, but the judging will focus on type.
If you are designing websites, apps, or animations involving type, your portfolio should include a link inside the PDF.
Note that we are offering entry-fee discounts for residents of countries that are often under-represented in the international design community. Look on the Fees tab of the competition website to see if your country is on the list.
We have initiated this competition to expand our support young designers whose work represents excellence in typography, and we encourage everyone to submit portfolios showcasing their innovation.
Members of the TDC Board of Directors will review all submitted work and select ten aspiring and inspiring designers who are expanding the art of typography.
The selected designers will be announced in New York City on July 18, 2018 at the TDC’s annual awards ceremony, be honored in an exhibition of their work at the Type Directors Club in New York, and receive an award designed by renowned designer Matteo Bologna. The winners and their work will also be published in the TDC’s annual, The World’s Best Typography.

The deadline for submissions was originally June 25, but has been extended until July 9, 2018. We look forward to reviewing your portfolios.
