Type Directors Club Competitions Late Entries Due Noon EST January 11
› Enter TDC Competitions Here!
Thank you to everyone who entered the TDC65 The World’s Best Typography competitions. We’ve received professional and student entries from all over the globe. We are accepting late entries until Noon (EST) January 11, 2019 for an additional fee here. Sorry, but no late entries!
TDC65 includes competitions for Communication Design and Typeface Design. This year, we have added a student category for the Typeface Design competition, in addition to our existing student category for Communication Design. Both of these student competitions award monetary prizes.
During this late-entry period, we are accepting entries through January 11, 2018 (noon EST).
Submissions are discounted for TDC corporate, professional, and student members. Anyone that joins TDC can take advantage of this benefit. Learn more here.
Discounts are also available to residents of countries that are often under-represented in the international design community. Find the list of international discounts here.
An international jury of type designers, graphic designers, art directors, and illustrators will select the winning entries, which will be published in the 40th edition of the Type Directors Club annual, The World’s Best Typography, and will be shown in a traveling exhibition that will tour more than 35 cities throughout the world.
We accept work in the Communication Design competition in a broad range of categories — movie titles, digital media, apparel, logos, exhibition design, and experimental work. Whatever excellent work you are doing with letters and type, will have an opportunity to win. The category list is here.
Our Communications Design competition judges are Karin Fong, Leo Jung, Eddie Opara, Paulina Reyes, Ian Spalter, Annik Troxler, and Zipeng Zhu. Learn more about them here. This year’s Communication Design competition chair is Bobby C. Martin Jr.
Separately, the Typeface Design Competition invites you to enter your best type design work, from single fonts through superfamilies. The Typeface Design competition will be judged by Tobias Frere-Jones, Nicole Dotin, Kristyan Sarkis, and Erin McLaughlin. Learn more about these judges here. This year’s Typeface Design competition chair is Nina Stössinger.
Mark your calendar to join us in New York City on January 24, 2019 to meet two of our judges, Kristyan Sarkis and Karen Fong at Parsons The New School for Design.
