“Type is Never the Thing Itself”
Generative typography; what is it, and is there a future for shape-shifting letters? Four designers — Rob Giampietro, Prem Krishnamurthy, Petr Van Blokland, and Natasha Jen — address these questions in this video. Written and directed by Leland Maschmeyer (and produced by Collins for the Type Directors Club), the video expands upon Collins’ design of the Type Generator for the TDC’s new call for entries.
