Celebrate the season at the TDC! We will be displaying new paintings by Jessica Helfand and Jessica will be signing copies of her new book, Design: The Invention of Desire, recently published by Yale University Press.

Jessica Helfand is a designer, author, educator, and founding editor of Design Observer. She is Artist in Residence at Yale’s Institute for Network Science and teaches in Yale’s School of Art and School of Management. Her paintings are abstract renderings of scientific truths—teased nerves and torqued membranes and dense, dendritic cells—glimpses of the rich biological phenomena shared by all human beings. These paintings are featured in her latest book, Design: The Invention of Desire, which was published in 2016 by Yale University Press, and will be on view at the Type Directors Club through February 3rd, 2017.
